About this stage
How to Take an Inner Journey and Journal
Free · Foundational Cycle · Prerequisite for the entire program
Every journey of restoration begins on the inside. The School of the Inner Journey is the first and foundational step of the restoration program — a guided introduction to the most important discipline of the Christian life: learning to hear the voice of God.
Following the example of Jesus, who withdrew daily to listen to His Father before living out His day, you'll learn to move from one-way prayer to a living, two-way dialogue with God. This is the 18-inch journey from the mind to the heart — the sanctuary of the soul where Christ dwells.
Your Invitation
We invite you to join Jesus Christ on the most exciting journey known to man: the short but life-changing journey from the mind to the heart, where God has made His home in you.
Before we can take the outer journey of daily living, we must first take the inner one — just as Jesus did. This course teaches the single most important discipline of the Christian life: listening to the Father and living from the inside out, rather than from the outside in.
Drawn from the teachings of Mickey Evans, founder of Dunklin Memorial Camp, this school is not an intellectual exercise or a therapeutic technique. It is a simple, humble, and profoundly transforming practice that a child could do with ease — the daily "sacred appointment" that becomes the wellspring of everything else in your restoration.
Over this journey you will discover how to quiet your soul, recognize the still, small voice of God in your new heart, and record what He speaks to you. You'll learn to distinguish His voice from the noise of your own thinking and the accusations of the enemy, and you'll begin to experience the fellowship, healing, and belonging your heart was created for.
What You'll Learn
- Regenerating the inner life — understanding the new heart and new spirit God gives every believer.
- Practicing His presence — how to prepare your heart and enter into daily communion with God.
- Living from your new heart — allowing Jesus to reach your wounds, infirmities, and brokenness with His healing.
- The tools of the Inner Journey — practical, step-by-step guidance for a meaningful daily Quiet Time.
- Two-way prayer — moving from monologue to genuine dialogue with your Heavenly Father.
The Two Core Tools
The Daily Moral Inventory (DMI): A brief, honest review of the past 24 hours — identifying both positive and negative attitudes and behaviors, and bringing them to God in confession and gratitude.
The Journal: Your precious, personal record of the journey — where you write the impressions of the Holy Spirit and the way God applies His written Word (Logos) personally to your life (Rhema).
Who This Is For
Anyone longing for a real, intimate, daily relationship with God — whether you are just beginning or have known Jesus for years but sense your heart has grown distant. This is the starting point for everyone.
The restoration program follows a strict order, and every cycle builds on this one. No step can be skipped, because learning to hear God's voice is the foundation of all that follows.
"When man listens, God speaks. When man obeys, God acts."
This stage is part of There Is Hope, a journey to begin with your own life, heal within, and restore your relationship with God.
